Klosters is a picturesque, old mountain town which has been attracting winter visitors since the turn of the 19th century.
A lot of its visitors are regulars who have been returning year after year to Klosters, creating a warm and friendly atmosphere.
There are challenges for all ability levels here, not just endless intermediate level terrain.
Klosters, in common with Davos, St Moritz and several other famous Swiss ski centres, has two sectors known as Klosters Platz and Klosters Dorf. Platz is by far the more lively and centre for most of the hotels, bars, restaurants and shops as well as the cable car link towards Davos. Dorf is the better choice if you're wanting a quiet time. It has the gondola lift to Kloster's own ski area on Madrisa, a free bus service link the two.

The eating out options are out of this world. Dotted around the slopes you'll find cosy little wooden huts serving sumptuous food, whilst famed establishments down in the village include The Wynegg, owned by Ruth Guler, to which Prince Charles makes an annual visit. The Chesa Grischuna and the Walserhof are both equally highly thought of and two of many establishments where advance reservation, sometimes several days ahead, is required in the 'busy season'.

Childcare is provided in the Silvretta-Parkhotel and on the Madrisa mountain where there's a snow park. Children aged three and over can be looked after here by the top station of the gondola lift. Lunch cover and all-day care is offered for children aged four and over by the ski school. This operates for two and a quarter hours mornings and afternoons, Mondays to Fridays and then on Sunday afternoons.
