Switzerland is home to a wide variety of ski resorts, a large number of which are considered to be the most popular in Europe. France has more purpose built resorts whereas many Swiss ones are traditional farming communities and are just as popular throughout summer as winter. This seems to create a more homely and intimate ambiance.
