Skiing in Finland offers a different experience to that of the Alps. It is visited far less frequently by British skiers which is perhaps an appealing point in itself!
It is naturally a nation of incredible beauty and certainly makes an ideal destination for families. The scenery is remarkable enclosed by frozen lakes, ice-sculpted woodland and uncrowded slopes. Finland is not just about the downhill skiing like many of the other resorts (especially the purpose built ones). There is an enormous collection of other Arctic activities making Finland quite an inimitable ski holiday. Snow-shoeing, ice fishing, ice carting, husky and reindeer sleigh rides as well as the incredible Northern lights are certainly things to experience!
